Itsworkzone ™

What does Itsworkzone™ do?

Itsworkzone™ is designed for construction area management. Itsworkzone™ can be used for other applications, but for the scope of this example, we will stay with the construction area idea. To accurately describe what Itsworkzone™ does, anything highlighted in green is not in the situation but rather an explanation of what is happening.

The Situation...
A car enters a construction zone at about 55mph even though the posted speed limit in that zone is 35mph. A radar unit (radar units can report the current speed) targets the car and reports the car's speed to the Itsworkzone™ software via the Wireless FM Radio connection. (FM Radio is event driven and polling unlike Spread Spectrum)

The User running the Itsworkzone™ software has perviously setup a group of Control Actions. (Control Actions are conditional statements in side the software that the user can define - if x = y then do something) The software scans the group of Control Actions and finds that the user wants to take a photo of the cars licence plate if the car is going over the posted speed limit.

The Itsworkzone™ software then loads and instance of the Protocol DLL needed to communicate with the video camera sitting at the side of the road and instructs the camera to take a picture of the cars licence plate. (A Protocol DLL is a module that Itsworkzone™ uses to communicate with roadside devices)

The software also finds that the user has set a Control Action to send a message to a CMS Sign telling the driver to slow down if the car is going over the posted speed limit. Itsworkzone™ loads an instance of the Protocol DLL needed to communicate with that CMS sign, and then sends the needed information to the CMS Sign. (via the FM Radio)

The CMS Sign then Displays "PLEASE SLOW DOWN", and "FINES DOUBLED IN WORKZONES".

A Plugin (An external Program that enhances the functionality of the software) running inside of Itsworkzone™ scans all controls (graphical representations of roadside devices) in the software and sends the information of all controls to a web site for display to the general public.

The car then slows down, for the duration of the work area. And the user decides if they want to issue a ticket to the driver of the car.

So as you can see from the above example, Itsworkzone™ is an event driven program that will automatically (or manually) respond to external events triggered by devices.
